A systems analyst by day, Noreen very much enjoys applying her creative and musical talents directing NoteAble Blend on Wednesday nights! In her youth she was involved in community theatre and choral ensembles, but when she heard a women's barbershop quartet rehearsing at her high school, she flipped over the harmony and has been hooked ever since. Through her barbershop involvement, she has taken advantage of training courses in singing, stage performance and choreography, as well as, seminars in music theory, arranging and directing. Along with chorus singing, her 30+ year involvement with barbershopping has allowed her the pleasure of being a coach, music chairman, and founding member of three barbershop choruses; the Raynbow Chorus of Sweet Adelines International and both A Classic Sound and NoteAble Blend choruses of Harmony, Inc. Noreen has several quartetting and competing experiences under her belt including tenor in Bassically Yours, singing both tenor and baritone (not at the same time!) in the quartet, Zing!" , and now as tenor in "Mischief." She has also dabbled in music arranging, one piece in particular, NoteAble Welcome, the chorus' welcome theme song. On a more personal note, Noreen loves long walks, and reading, but her passion is inspiring the members of NoteAble Blend to sing and ring those barbershop chords! |

Being born into a musical family, Sue has always had a great desire for many types of music - singing especially. Starting with piano lessons in grade three and choir singing at the same time, she continued to pursue musical endeavors such as college theater, choir and organ with a concentration in music for children. When friends recommended joining a barbershop women's chorus in the late 1990's, Sue knew right away that she had found her niche. One of the founding members of Noteable Blend, Sue has served as associate director, treasurer and section leader. Singing the tenor part, she has also performed in the quartet, Razz Ma Tazz. Recently a new quartet has emerged from the group called Breezin' where she also provides the tenor voice. Sue has also directed and sings in her local church choir. As assistant director Sue looks forward to working with Noreen in preparing the chorus for performances and enjoying the craft of singing capillary with this great group of women. |

She quickly became totally consumed with the chorus, becoming a section leader, president and assistant director for the group. She now serves as music education chairman. This energetic individual has developed and implemented a basic barbershop theory course, which she presented to both chorus and community members. Formerly a member of the Razz Ma Tazz quartet, Jan is now currently singing baritone in the quartet, Breezin'.
